Edouard HUE

Guest choreographer
Director and choreographer of Beaver Dam Company. Former dancer with Hofesh Schechter Company.

Edouard Hue is first and foremost a dancer who uses his physicality to serve pure movement. As a dancer, he explores extremes in the works of choreographers Hofesh Shechter, Damien Jalet, and Olivier Dubois. Nourished by these contrasting experiences, Hue constantly seeks to push the boundaries of the body and movement, exploring extraordinary sensations. In 2019, he received the Swiss Dance Prize as an “Outstanding Dancer.”

In 2014, he founded the Beaver Dam Company, based in Geneva, Switzerland, with which he affirms his vision of dance as an ode to emotional release, transcended by demanding choreographic complexity. In 11 years with the company, he has created nine original works for solo, duo, trio, quintet, septet, and small ensemble, including the major pieces All I Need and Dive. His creations, recognized internationally, have garnered critical acclaim.

Edouard Hue also creates choreographic works for prestigious companies: in 2018, he composed the “Domine Jesu” section for Yoann Bourgeois’s Requiem, restaged Into Outside in 2019 for the Frontier Danceland Company (Singapore), created No Matter in 2020 for the Gauthier Dance Company (Stuttgart), Titan in 2022 for Ballet Basel, and The Firebird in 2023 for the Ballet de l’Opéra du Grand-Avignon. In July 2024, Angelin Preljocaj and Laurent Hilaire invited him to create Skinny Hearts for the Bayerisches Staatsballett (Munich). In 2026, he will continue his work with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève for the Electrofaunes event (Geneva, 2026) and will create a new work for the Scottish Dance Theatre (Dundee). He will revisit Maurice Ravel’s Histoires Naturelles for the Ballet du Rhin (Mulhouse) in 2027.

At the same time, Edouard Hue transmits his repertoire to renowned institutions around the world: ZhDK – Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Switzerland), Greek National Opera Dance School (Greece), Dance Area Jeune Ballet (Switzerland), the Ecole de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal (Canada), the Ballet Junior de Genève (Switzerland), SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (Austria), the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (France) and Le Marchepied (Switzerland), among others.
