Ihsan Rustem, born in London, trained at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. He is the Artistic Director of Cie. La Ronde, a Swiss dance company he co-founded in 2020 with Cathy Marston, and the Resident Choreographer for the NW Dance Project in Portland, USA.
Ihsan has choreographed for companies such as Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, the Zurich Junior Ballet, and the São Paulo Ballet. His works have won several awards, including the 2012 Sadler’s Wells Global Dance Contest and Dance Magazine’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Award.
A former dancer with the Munich Ballet Theater and Introdans, he has created roles for choreographers such as Wayne McGregor and Hofesh Shechter, and has worked with Mats Ek, Jiri Kylián, and William Forsythe. He also served as a jury member for the Prix de Lausanne in 2021 and other international competitions.
